Red at Calhoun Beach Club

For a recent winter wedding, the venue was Calhoun Beach Club and the color of the day was red (with a little dash of winter white!). I loved the color scheme and I especially like the great anemones and some fabulous hydrangea I scored for the bouquets and centerpieces. Enjoy!

She throws a good party, too

Sometimes I get myself into more than just the floral design for events. Recently, I played event planner for a cocktail party reception. My theme was "Cozy Winter" and I designed the floral pieces around that theme.  The stunning linens in pewter grey were perfect with birch branches and evergreens from California. Other tables had silver vases with white, grey and dark purple blooms. The warm twinkle from the crystal candles added the glamour and the chair covers blew everyone away as a very unexpected treat!

I need credit some fabulous vendors for helping me pull it off.  The table cloths were from Apres and the black satin chair covers were from Lasting Impressions Weddings. The very fancy crystal votive candle holders were from MBellish.   It all looked amazing and I had SO many compliments - thanks for the help!

Kate and Brandon

The professional pictures are in from dream client Kate's wedding.  The venue was The Women's Club of Minneapolis for both ceremony and reception. Downstairs for the ceremony it was flower balls in a variety of blooms: gerberas, mums, daisies and carnations.

Upstairs for reception centerpieces, I used a mix of white flowers with accents of grey dusty miller and berries. I also added Kate's favorite craspedia (also know as billy balls) for yellow color

The bouquets were my favorite!  Each of the maids carried a bouquet made of mainly one type of flower variety from the bride's mix of flowers. I am predicting new trends after this wedding: yellow is beautiful and grey is the new black!

Congrats to Kate and Brandon - best wishes to you on your marriage!

Thanks to photographer, Kristian Olson for these amazing shots!
