The Knot Magazine Minnesota

I love when I spot my work in wedding magazines - so fun to see how the million details of planning come together in one special day.

The new issue of The Knot Magazine Minnesota showcased three different weddings of my work.

Heather and Adam's winter wedding in St. Paul was featured. Also, two of my brides were highlighted in the article, Where the money really goes. Congrats to all three couples - your weddings were beautiful and I am honored to have worked for you!!

Michelle and John

Fall weddings are so much fun and the floral options are endless. This past fall, I did the flowers for the lovely fall wedding of Michelle and John. Michelle's requests were simple - fall feeling and texture without the traditional fall colors. I used dalhias, orchids, hydrangea, callas and tons of other flowers to create texture and all the blooms were shades of plum, purple, brown, green and white.
Also, working on this event was Michelle's sister-in-law, Sarah Trotter of Lasting Impressions Weddings and La Vie Photography. Sarah did a great job planning the amazing event for Michelle!!! La Vie, once again, showed their amazing talents with these photos.
The venue for these photos was the Nicollet Island Pavilion, which is so beautiful in the fall.

My favorite arrangement was the cake -I just got a little instruction that Michelle wanted a base of flowers around the stand...I took my cue from that and loaded it with fall hydrangea, roses, greens and orchids. Loved it!

The tall centerpieces were mix of curly willow, white orchids and purple dalhias (my favorite!)

The girls were stunning in plum dresses - perfect for fall.

Close-up of the bouquet - everything fall except the traditional fall colors. Love the texture!

lynn and sean

I had so much fun designing the flowers for Lynn and Sean's wedding this past spring and I was so excited when Lynn recently emailed me a link to her photos. Here are some shots that her photographer, Kris Drake, took on their special day.

ana and josh

One of my favorite venues in Minneapolis is The Mill City Museum and Ana and Josh had a perfect wedding day there last September. Sally from La Vie captured these shots and I love how they turned out!
Ana thought of everything - when I delivered the flowers, she had a little locket photo of her parents' wedding ready for me to attach to her bouquet...so sweet!

Purple Romance

Purple is such a romantic, sophisticated color and I was thrilled to work with it as the color of the day for Stacy and Mike's recent November wedding. These amazing shots are courtesy of Gene Pease of Geneoh Photography who captured all great moments of their beautiful fall day. Stacy wanted flowers in all shades of purple and her stunning bouquet was made up of five different varieties of calla lilies. Her bridesmaids wore plum dresses and carried anemones, callas and stock bouquets.

Gene is a relatively new photographer with a very talented eye for shots and color - check out his blog for more of Stacy and Mike's day.

Love this shot from the reception - I utilized richly colored purple carnations for a ball a top a tall glass vase.
Close up of the callas - you can see all the texture and color variation in these amazing flowers.

The Knot

I just got a call from The Knot magazine letting me know that a past client's wedding will be featured in the magazine's Spring/Summer 2010 issue. Here are some of the pictures from that wedding that I hope are in the magazine. Thanks again to Sarah from Agape for these shots!

Classic White

Recently, I had a great time working with Sarah Trotter from Lasting Impressions Weddings and her client getting married at the Basilica of St. Mary followed by a reception at the Millennium hotel in Minneapolis. The bride loved the look of the white carnation ball centerpieces and Sarah complimented the look with chair sashes. The sun filled ballroom dazzled in white and royal blue - how dramatic!

Special thanks to Ruth at Happily Ever After for these great shots!!!

Falling for Pink

So pink typically isn't a fall color, but pared with chocolate brown it was a lovely color scheme for the October wedding of Rebecca and Kyle. Jennifer Cress was the fabulous photographer for the couple and shared these shots...love them! Rebecca's bouquet was classic in white with dahlias, hydrangea and a few gerbera daisies. Her maids carried all pink flowers. Just the color mix to brighten a misty day. Thanks to Jennifer Cress for sharing the photos and best wishes to Rebecca and Kyle.

Megan and Ramsey

I love all the weddings that I have the privilege to be a part of and feel blessed to design flowers for a living. I get so excited to see the process go from vision to reality. One wedding that I was particularly excited to see come together was Megan and Ramsey this past July. Vintage was the theme and all the details were perfect: bow ties for the guys, lace dresses for the girls, St. Paul Hotel...oh so lovely!

For the flowers, our initial inspiration was the lace detail of Megan's dress and the black lace of the bridesmaids' dresses. Megan wanted the flowers to reflect the lacy look and when I suggested hydrangea - she swooned and I knew this was going to be a gorgeous wedding!!

Megan's bouquet was a mix of hydrangea, ranunculus and tuberose...all vintage blooms done in a modern design. Her maids carried three different varieties of hydrangea in green and white.

These photos are courtesy of Erica at Studio 188 Photography . I am so inspired by these shots - Erica captured all the love and romance of the day. Thank you, Erica!

The ballroom at the St. Paul Hotel was adorned with romantic centerpieces in gold vases with hydrangea, roses and seeded eucalyptus. I was once again thrilled to work with MBellish rental company on this wedding with their hurricane pieces simply accented with pink orchids.

A another fun vintage idea, one large orchid with ribbon - just like they did in 1960! The twist is pinning it to a purse which is nice alternative to a pin-on corsage.

heather + brian

I can never get enough of photography by Kelly Brown Weddings. The detail, the color, the romance... all captured so well in her shots - she is a true artist. These photos took my breath away from Heather and Brain's wedding at Carlson Towers on Labor Day weekend.
Heather was a dream to work with and her style was simple - stunning flowers in rich color. I designed her bouquet with calla lilies and orchids in fall hues. The bridesmaids had similar flowers and with their black cocktail dresses - the colors was even more vivid.
The boutonnieres were a simple, yet unique combination of two types of orchid buds.
I wish this adorable couple all the best!!!
