peony season

I do love peonies and my favorite time of year is when they are all in bloom!  These pictures are from Anna and Josh's garden wedding and the peonies were perfect.  I paired them with antique pink colored roses and I loved the combination. Best wishes Anna and Josh - enjoy a long life together and always enjoy peony season!

Royal Wedding

No, I didn't design Kate's bouquet - I was already booked for Lindsey's gorgeous wedding at Carlson Towers! But Lindsey did have the royal look with all white blooms and crystal vases on every tables. Stunning! The wedding was this weekend and already I have great shots from the photographers at Agape Moments. Check out the super cute flower girl with a head band of flowers in her hair - adorable! Congrats to this wonderful couple - I had so much working on these flowers and I love the final look. Thanks to Agape for these amazing shots that capture all the details of the day!

Sophisticated Garden Party

A recent client requested "sophisticated spring" for a cocktail reception held before the concert at Orchestra Hall.  To create the look, I was inspired by blooming branches, french tulips, clematis and jasmine that made the whole place smell like a garden in bloom.  It was lovely!!!

Wine Tasting

Check out these great shots from a recent executive womens' event that I designed for.  The event featured a wine tasting and every table had a circle of wine glasses around each centerpiece.  My client wanted the centerpieces to make the guests feel pampered as they sampled each wine.   I used white dendrobium orchids, wine colored cymbidium orchids, calla lilies, berries and mums to create captivating arrangements on each table.  I loved all the different centerpiece options and the event was beautiful!

Feeling tropical

These fantastic photos from a wedding I designed last fall have me wishing for warmer weather!  Check out the hot colors of the tropical flowers mixed in with a few local favorites.  The bride's bouquet was a variety of colorful blooms: peonies, protea, roses, orchids and mums to name a few of them.

The venue was 5 Event Center which was a lot of fun to decorate.  The large pots were the focal points of the room and detailed photos showcase the beautiful blooms I used to create their vivid color.

Thank you Dahlseid Photography for the photos!

Red at Calhoun Beach Club

For a recent winter wedding, the venue was Calhoun Beach Club and the color of the day was red (with a little dash of winter white!). I loved the color scheme and I especially like the great anemones and some fabulous hydrangea I scored for the bouquets and centerpieces. Enjoy!

She throws a good party, too

Sometimes I get myself into more than just the floral design for events. Recently, I played event planner for a cocktail party reception. My theme was "Cozy Winter" and I designed the floral pieces around that theme.  The stunning linens in pewter grey were perfect with birch branches and evergreens from California. Other tables had silver vases with white, grey and dark purple blooms. The warm twinkle from the crystal candles added the glamour and the chair covers blew everyone away as a very unexpected treat!

I need credit some fabulous vendors for helping me pull it off.  The table cloths were from Apres and the black satin chair covers were from Lasting Impressions Weddings. The very fancy crystal votive candle holders were from MBellish.   It all looked amazing and I had SO many compliments - thanks for the help!

Kate and Brandon

The professional pictures are in from dream client Kate's wedding.  The venue was The Women's Club of Minneapolis for both ceremony and reception. Downstairs for the ceremony it was flower balls in a variety of blooms: gerberas, mums, daisies and carnations.

Upstairs for reception centerpieces, I used a mix of white flowers with accents of grey dusty miller and berries. I also added Kate's favorite craspedia (also know as billy balls) for yellow color

The bouquets were my favorite!  Each of the maids carried a bouquet made of mainly one type of flower variety from the bride's mix of flowers. I am predicting new trends after this wedding: yellow is beautiful and grey is the new black!

Congrats to Kate and Brandon - best wishes to you on your marriage!

Thanks to photographer, Kristian Olson for these amazing shots!

Snow flowers

The weather on Saturday was frightful, but the flowers for the wedding were delightful! Check out the bride's red bouquet with roses, peonies and feathers and her maids' bouquets of champange colored roses with gold berries and feathers.  The bride was so happy, she hugged me when she saw the flowers!  I heard through the grapevine that they had a wonderful ceremony and that the photographer got some great photos of the bride in the snow...looking forwarding to seeing the pictures!

Favorite pink

I love this bouquet from a recent wedding. I am tempted to say this is one of my favorite pink bouquets: orchids, calla lilies, roses and a touch of glam with a rhinestone cuff for the stems!

Loved the cake from this wedding, too - black and white with a crown of pink for the top!
